    I am using KMPlayer on Xubuntu right now. mplayer is good too, but I use that mainly on OS X.

    Search your repositories, there’s probably a ton in there. I have totem movie player and rhythm box, they work fine.

    I recommend MPlayer for video and Rhythmbox for audio. Both are available in the Synaptic Package Manager.
