Java have tons of info and help from all the embedded nobile phone stuff I would guess but that’s all that I really know of. There is a couple of game building apps that I got with Ubuntu but that was for a board game I believe.
You will have to download books about this from wherever as i have a few.
There has to be some good results from google from ‘game development linux’ – the best thing is that you can use such a lot of source code as your own, simply changing the graphics etc
So board games – yes
