Um…First question…….why don’t you throw an ethernet cable over to the Ubuntu box and connect it ?????

This depends on whether you are downloading rpms, tarballs or bin files. There should be installation instructions either at the site, or in a file with the download.

You need the source code and you can install the applications with no need for internet connectivity. You might need some dependency packages that need to be installed to have the software work on ur pc..

Try looking for an application that displays the dependencies so you can check if you got them or not..

To install the applications just use a command like:
    make
    make install

or something like that, i can’t remember correctly :)

If it is a .deb file, then you just double click and it installs itself..
Check out the link i provided, it should give you a clearer look..
Hope this helps & good luck,

it depends what programs, but in general, games and other software designed for windows or mac doesn’t install or work on ubuntu (unless it is designed to do so) but there are things out there that will work! good luck!
