Some folks (not me, because I am such a Linux newbie) would say that Windows users are not computer savvy; Windows users are merely Windows savvy.
All the modern “popular/mainstream” Linux distributions are quite GUI-centric. The most “popular” ones are quite good at automatically detecting and configuring hardware on modern-day computers. Installation is generally a breeze.
Try each one until you find the one that suits you best. It’ll be plenty of fun (if you’re a patient, inquisitive, positive person).
Plus, Linux distributions come with so much software! It’s astounding!

Ubuntu would be the most user user friendly one, but have a try of a few and see which you like.
Linux wont run Windows games or apps – only Windows will – Windows is proprietary software as are the apps that run on it.
